Taste Tours

General Terms & Conditions

We are pleased that you have chosen our services and thank you for your confidence in us. Please read the following General Contract and Travel Conditions carefully

1. Scope

1.1. Taste Tours is a French tour operator offering original, tailor-made tour packages to the general public. These General Terms and Conditions govern the contractual relationship between you and Taste Tours in respect of the package trips and other travel services we offer.

1.2. These GTCs distinguish between package trips and other travel services. A package trip is defined as such when we arrange transport plus accommodation or another tourism service for a total price and the trip lasts for at least 24 hours or includes an overnight stay.

1.3 Taste Tours may promote the services of other tour operators and use their services as part of their own tour packages, or put them in touch directly with clients seeking said services.

2. Conclusion of a contract

A contract is concluded once Taste Tours has accepted a booking you have made in writing (letter, email, or via the booking forms on our website) and we have received payment of deposits.

3. Terms of payment

In general, package trips must be paid for at the time of booking. Other travel services as described in point 1.3. of these GTCs may be received through Taste Tours or paid directly to the provider in question in accordance with their own General Terms of Trade.

A deposit (negotiated tour-by-tour but generally 30% of estimated costs) is required to initiate tour planning and bookings on behalf of requests made by clients or travel agents. We will not begin work on tailor-made tour packages until deposits have been received.

4. Cancellation and alteration by the customer

4.1.
Cancellations made 30 days or less from the date of your deposit:
You will receive 100% refund if you choose to cancel your travel plans, less any processing fees if paid using our website or PayPal.

4.2. Cancellations made after 30 days from the date of your deposit and before 90 days prior to the start of the tour:
Guests who paid the full amount upon booking the tour: Taste Tours will refund 50% of the amount paid, less any processing fees. The remaining 50% of the amount paid may be used as a deposit for a different Taste Tour within one year from the travel start date of the initial tour booked. This option is based on the availability of a second tour and at the discretion of Taste Tours' administration.

4.3. Guests who paid the 50% deposit upon booking the tour: this deposit is now non- refundable. However, it may be used as a deposit for a different Taste Tour within one year from the travel start date of the initial tour booked. This option is based on the availability of a second tour and at the discretion of Taste Tours' administration.

4.4. Cancellations made 90 days or less prior to the start of a tour, will result in the loss of the full amount paid for the tour. Exceptions to this Cancellation Policy cannot be made for any reason, including personal emergencies. There is no partial refund for leaving a tour early or arriving late. If you anticipate any reason that you may need to cancel your reservation on our tour, please consider travel insurance (see below).

Such insurance can cover the costs of cancellation in the event of illness, accident or death affecting the traveller or a person close to him, her or they. In this case you must send us written notification of the decision to cancel as well as evidence of the reason for cancellation, and return any travel documents that have already been issued.

4.5. If you are unable to travel, you can in principle appoint a replacement who will take part in the trip under the same conditions. This is subject to the replacement person agreeing to pay the price of the trip and to the travel providers for the trip (hotels, airlines, train/boat cruise companies etc.) accepting the change.

5. Programme alterations and cancellation of trip by the provider

5.1 If a planned tour or travel service arranged by Taste Tours is cancelled by Taste Tours, the client will be refunded, minus a 100€ administration fee.

5.2. Should the arrangements actually provided be of lesser value than the arrangements originally planned, the difference will be refunded to you if Taste Tours or another provider were at fault.

6. Complaints

6.1. If the trip does not meet the contractual agreement, or if you suffer losses, you are entitled and obliged to notify the relevant service provider of the relevant shortcoming or losses without delay.

6.2. Should the service provider at the location be unable to find a satisfactory solution, and therefore the shortcoming is not (properly) resolved, you should complain in writing to Taste Tours within 30 days of the date on which the trip was due to end.

6.3. You will automatically lose any entitlement if you do not complain to the service provider at the location (see 6.1.) or send a written complaint to Taste Tours within the time allowed (see 6.2.).

7. Liability

7.1. Taste Tours is liable for personal loss arising from the death, physical injury or illness of a customer if this is caused by the negligence of ourselves or a service provider commissioned to provide travel arrangements.

7.2. Taste Tours' liability for direct, immediate material loss is limited, in cases where we are at fault, to twice the cost of the package trip, unless the loss was caused deliberately or as a result of gross negligence on our part. Any further liability, particularly for indirect loss and/or consequential loss, is excluded.

8. Litigation

Before starting legal action you may contact the MTV, Médiation Tourisme Voyage, BP 80303 - 75823 PARIS Cedex 17, at any time. The commission always strives to reach a fair and balanced decision in disputes between travellers and travel service providers.

9. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction

The contractual relationship between you and Taste Tours is subject to French law. Paris is the sole place of jurisdiction for any disputes arising. Please note, that in case of any legal dispute, the French version of these GTCs is solely applicable.
