Living wines and exclusive private visits

Vineyard touring is the most exciting approach to France as it combines the beauty of the countryside, a connection with the soil and a chance to taste that soil through the alchemy of photosynthesis. It is an intimate association with terroir and technique, an opportunity to learn from the experience of others and taste their toil. Wine is also the symbol of civilised living and a profound expression of our relationship to nature. Join us for the best of the best as elegant accommodations combine with fine dining and the who's who of Loire Valley wines.

Loire Valley
The garden of France, the home of kings and queens and one of the country's richest wine regions. Our tour begins in the East near the vineyards of Sancerre, moving West to discover the diversity of the Touraine, Chinon, Saumur and Anjou vineyards and still farther West to the crisp white Muscadets of the area around Nantes and the Atlantic coast.
Domains & Vineyards

The 'A' list in the Loire is long, but among the domains to visit are Alphonse Mellot, Julien Courtois, E&S Riffault, Serge Dageneau, Thierry Puzelat
Huard, Villemade, Philippe Tessier, Huet
Vincent Careme, La Grange Tiphaine
Francois Chidaine, Catherine et Pierre Breton, Jerome Lenoir, Baudry, Joguet
Olga Raffault, Thierry Germain, Marc Angeli, Philippe Gourdon, Coulée de Serrant, Domaine du Closel, Olivier Cousin, Jo Landron, Jo Pithon, Clau de Nell, Domaine de l’Ecu, Agnes and Jacques Carroget...
All of the domains we will visit work organically and biodynamically to create living wines that reflect terroir and offer real taste.
Visits & Attractions

Though the vineyards are the main focus of this tour, a visit to the Loire Valley would not be complete without seeing the legendary Loire châteaux. Among the included visits are the castles of Chambord, Cheverny, Blois, Chaumont,

Amboise, Chenonceaux, Villandry, Azay-le-Rideau and Angers along with tours of

the Clos Lucé and the Abbaye de Fontevraud.

This tour, accompanied by both a star winemaker (the only American to have ever made 2 grand cru classé French wines) and a tour manager and a long time resident of France with 30 years of vineyard experience and personal connections to the best vineyards, offers exclusive entrances and insights into the best-of-the-best of the Loire Valley  vineyards.
Meals and Michelin stars
All meals are included and range from 'table d'hôte' château dinners and country bistros to dinners in 1 and 2 star Michelin-rated restaurants.
Itinerary & Accommodations

All accommodations are in private châteaux and Relais & Châteaux properties, combining historical settings with refinement and elegance.

Starting in Paris, we will drive to Oizon in a 9-seat luxury minibus to our private château in the Berry region, close to Sancerre for visits of the Eastern Loire wine regions. As we travel West, we will visit Cheverny, Chambord and Blois and the vineyards of the Touraine and Vouvray. Chinon and Saumur will treat us to some unforgettable reds while the whites of Anjou and Muscadet will excite our palates and raise our spirits. On the return to Paris we will stop in to visit the Cathedral of Chartres.

Geoffrey Finch - Tour manager
With 30 years of wine touring experience combined with practical vineyard work, Geoffrey has made wine both a study and a passion. As a long time resident of France, he has never stopped exploring the back roads and byways of the country, with vineyards being the primary focus.
Aaron Pott - Winemaker
Star winemaker and owner of his own vineyard in Napa, Aaron has worked in many areas of the world including France, Italy and Chile in addition to Napa.  His incomparable knowledge, humor and experience will make this trip an exceptional learning experience as well as a blast.
