Self Drive - Loire Valley Wines & Castles

7 day tour beginning in Tours

The garden of France, the home of kings and queens and one of the country's richest wine regions. Our tour begins in Tours, moving West to discover the diversity of the Touraine, Chinon, Saumur and Anjou vineyards and still farther West to the crisp white Muscadets of the area around Nantes and the Atlantic coast.

A combination of vineyards, river landscapes, historical abbeys and the legendary Loire châteaux. Among the possible visits are the castles of Chambord, Cheverny, Blois, Chaumont, Amboise, Chenonceaux, Villandry, Azay-le-Rideau and Angers along with tours of the Clos Lucé and the Abbaye de Fontevraud.

For wine lovers, the 'A' list in the Loire is long, but among the domains to visit are Thierry Puzelat, Huard, Villemade, Philippe Tessier, Huet, Vincent Careme, La Grange Tiphaine, Francois Chidaine, Catherine et Pierre Breton, Jerome Lenoir, Baudry, Joguet, Olga Raffault, Thierry Germain, Marc Angeli, Philippe Gourdon, Coulée de Serrant, Domaine du Closel, Olivier Cousin, Jo Landron, Jo Pithon, Clau de Nell, Domaine de l’Ecu, Agnes and Jacques Carroget...
