An exclusive private watercolour workshop set in one of the Dordogne’s most beautiful castles. Using the castle as our base, each day will feature watercolour workshops with a professional instructor and chauffeur driven excursions with a professional bilingual guide to visit the sites of the region with meals prepared daily by a Cordon Bleu chef. The Dordogne is an exceptionally green region, famous for its bastides, elaborate gardens, enchanting medieval villages and its prehistoric remains with grottoes such as the Font de Gaume and the caves of Lascaux. Among the treasures of the region are the old town of Bergerac, the home of Cyrano, Brantome, Belvès, Sarlat, la Roque Gageac, Domme, Souillac, and Rocamadour and the gardens of Eyrignac and Marqueyssac.
The castle (our residence)

Residing in a fairytale castle (pictured above) with spacious, high-ceiling bedrooms with private en-suite bathrooms, lavish French elegance, a swimming pool, a large dining room, a grand kitchen, study, library and extensive grounds, you may not want to go anywhere else. Daily excursions and visits to nearby sites will complement the watercolour workshops while cooking classes will be an opportunity to hone culinary skills. There will also be lots of time to relax and muse as most meals will be at the castle, prepared by our private chef.
Workshop & cooking classes

Improve or enhance your watercolour painting skills. Appropriate for all levels, the watercolour workshops will take place each day either inside the castle or 'en plein air' in the gardens, or in beautiful natural settings.

Working with fresh, organic, seasonal ingredients from the local farmer's market, our private chef will demonstrate how to prepare regional specialties in the castle kitchen. This hands-on activity will expand your knowledge of French culinary traditions, preparing dishes that will then be tasted at the following meal.

Starting in Paris, we train to Bergerac and then make our way in our private chauffeur-driven minivan to the castle. After settling in to our rooms and taking a tour of the property, we will have aperitifs on the terrace followed by dinner prepared by our private chef. Each day will include a watercolour painting workshop with excursions to the highlights of the surrounding countryside. These will include medieval villages, elaborate gardens, wine tastings, farmer's markets, historical landmarks, castles and curiosities. Cooking classes will also provide additional experience, while the swimming pool, billiard table, library and extensive grounds offer a diversity of leisure activities.
